Who is Vessel?

This is the question buzzing throughout world of underground Hip Hop. He earned the moniker "Vessel" because of his innate ability to deliver a message, acting as a conduit for a wide array of creative forces. Vessel’s clean-cut yet edgy image makes him ideal for marketing to just about any demographic. Vessel has been rapping and singing since the eighth grade. But his talent is capacious, the music deeper. Thick rhythms and militant downbeats fuse through Vessel's lyrical expedition deep into the vast well of societal ills, heavy with critique of materialism and destructive lifestyles.

With his upcoming debut album "Aerial View," Vessel's rants roll and drop through provocative situational perspectives, challenging the listener to expand his/her outlook on life and to reflect a more expansive scope of reality. Vessel founded Hidden Treasure Music, a title reflective of the concern for today’s youth that is the heartbeat that pulses through Vessel’s rhymes. Hidden Treasure Academy (HTA) is the outreach and educational arm of Hidden Treasure Music Company that offers music curriculums to at-risk youth in the Chicagoland area. HTA works to reinforce children’s value for and appreciation of reading, creative writing, and various forms of artistic expression. HTA instructors cultivate a stimulating learning environment by sparking discussions about the content and imagery in popular urban songs and videos; uncovering the hidden influence that music and media has on our ideals; and engaging in reflective writing, recording, and production exercises.

“My artistry creates a platform from which I can influence a variety of people. The time I sacrifice in the classroom with young people is minimal compared to the number of idle hours they have throughout the week. It’s the least I can do to help even the odds of seeing them become positive members of our community.”
